Being back in San Francisco has been an amazing experience thus far.

After opening ten months worth of mail, most of which was junk, I went for a coffee. Actually, to be honest, within an hour of walking in the door I was out in my car. It seems strange, shallow almost, that the 'thing' I missed most about San Francisco was my car.

The weather was fantastic when I got home so I did my favourite drive over the golden gate bridge and then up, up, up into the Marin headlands for a panoramic view of Stinson Beach. They, meaning advertisers, often use this road to film car commercials.

With this view you can see why. It was warm, up in the mid twenties Celsius, so I lay in the sun and actualy fell asleep for a while. It was so quiet there, just the faint rustle of wind in the trees, my slumber disturbed by the odd car now and then. Finally, I continued along the road and swept back down to sea level to the beach you see below. That was like going from summer to winter. The sun was already low and it was chilly in the shade.

However, I perservered and wondered down to the sea's edge to dip my toes in the icey water. This marked the consecutive dipping of toes in opposite sides of the same ocean in one 24 hour period.

Thankyou jet travel!

So that was my first day back.
